Getting to Know "Growers" and "Showers". What’s the Difference?

It's currently a hot topic on Thai social media: what exactly are "Growers" (Blood penis) and "Showers" (Tissue penis), and how do they differ? Today, Menness Clinic is here to clear up the confusion for everyone in this article.

The terms "Grower" and "Shower" describe the difference between a penis that appears small when flaccid but expands significantly when erect (filled with blood), versus one whose size remains relatively constant (mostly muscle). This difference comes down to tissue elasticity and collagen composition.

Characteristics of a "Grower"

For individuals in this category, the penile tissue is highly elastic. As a result, when flaccid, the tissue can retract significantly back into the body. This high elasticity also means that factors like cold weather, stress, or intense workouts can cause very noticeable shrinkage.

However, during an erection, these elastic structures can expand dramatically to accommodate a large influx of blood flow. This leads to a highly visible increase in both length and girth when erect.

Characteristics of a "Shower"

For people in this group, the tissue naturally possesses less elasticity in its resting state. Simply put, the collagen fibers in this area are denser and more rigid.

Because the tissue doesn't shrink much when flaccid, it looks physically closer to its full size even when completely relaxed. Consequently, when blood flows into the tissue during an erection, there isn't much room left for additional expansion, meaning the erect size doesn't look drastically different from its flaccid state.

That being said, medical data indicates that flaccid size is a poor predictor of erect size.

Whether someone is a grower or a shower, their final erect size usually ends up close to the same statistical average. However, the grower group may experience a slightly larger percentage of expansion compared to showers, as their tissue is uniquely adapted to accommodate a greater volume of blood flow.

Quick Summary

  • Flaccid size ≠ Erect size

  • Someone who looks "small" when flaccid might have an erect size that is similar or even larger than someone who looks "big" when flaccid.

  • Both growers and showers usually end up within a similar erect size range, aligned with the population average.

  • Some studies suggest that growers might have a slightly larger average erect size, but this isn't true for everyone.
